HYS: Should Spurs sign Salomon Rondon?

Writer Marc Benamram claims Tottenham are considering a move for Salomon Rondon this summer, but is the club aiming too low?

When it comes to transfer rumours, football fans will usually do whatever it takes to convince themselves that their club have signed the next great thing, but Spurs fans are hating the links to West Brom’s Rondon.

The 28 year-old striker, valued at £11.7million by Transfermarkt, has grabbed seven league goals this season for the struggling Baggies.

While it is difficult to find a striker that’s high in quality but also content to play mostly second fiddle to Harry Kane, fans certainly aren’t excited by the links, citing it as a lack of ambition from Daniel Levy and the club.

The chairman has often taken stick for being frugal in the transfer market, and a move for Rondon would certainly go along those lines.

The Venezuelan international has fantastic strength and power, but he’s not exactly the type of signing to inspire fans for the season ahead.

Tottenham need to be aiming higher than the likes of Rondon if they want to truly compete at the very top next season.

So, Spurs fans, should Pochettino move for Rondon this summer? Let us know by voting in the poll below…
