Tottenham are one of three clubs lining up a summer swoop for Spartak Moscow’s Quincy Promes, but will it mean the end of Erik Lamela at Tottenham?
According to a report from Poka Moscow (via Back Page Football), Tottenham will battle Newcastle and Roma this summer for the signature of Quincy Promes.
The electric Dutch winger has grabbed an impressive 21 goals in all competitions for Spartak Moscow, and has terrified defences all season with his pace, directness and clinical finishing.
Tottenham are of course quite stacked in the attacking midfield department, in fact it’s probably the area least in need of strengthening this summer.
However, Erik Lamela could leave the club after a difficult season, and Promes would certainly be an upgrade on the Argentine.
Lamela grabbed two goals in the crazy final day win over Leicester, but has only started seven Premier League games this season, and isn’t the type of player that’s going to really push Tottenham to the next level.
Fans have always appreciated the tricky winger for his work rate and passion for the badge, but a choice of Dele Alli, Christian Eriksen, Son Heung-min, Lucas Moura and Quincy Promes for those three positions behind Harry Kane would be truly terrific for Tottenham.
So, Spurs fans, would you dump Lamela in order to sign Promes? Let us know by voting in the poll below…
