Full-back has become one of the most physically demanding positions on the pitch in recent years and no manager in the Premier League is more aware of that than Mauricio Pochettino, who moved to ensure he still had four at his disposal last summer after Kyle Walker's big-money move to Manchester City.

On the most part, Kieran Trippier has done the better job of making Walker's void in the starting XI his own, with summer right-back signing Serge Aurier making three less Premier League starts than the five-cap England international so far this season.
