According to reports in The Mirror, Tottenham Hotspur are keeping tabs on Burnley goalkeeper Nick Pope ahead of a potential move.

The Mirror report that the 26-year-old is in their sights as they look to bolster their options between the sticks with a home-grown player next summer, having caught the eye with his performances for the Clarets.

The England international – who was part of his countrys squad at the 2018 World Cup – is currently on his way back from a dislocated shoulder he suffered in the Europa League against Aberdeen back in the summer, but before that he had established himself as the Lancashire outfit's number one, and one of the better keepers in the Premier League, having replaced the injured Tom Heaton himself.

However, Pope faces a real battle to reclaim his spot given he will battle both Heaton and Joe Hart for a place in the starting XI, and could look for a move away if he fails to gain that.

Meanwhile, Hugo Lloris' place in the Tottenham side may be coming under threat following a largely poor campaign for the Frenchman, who was found guilty of a drink-driving offence last month.

The 31-year-old hasn't been in the best form when he has been on the pitch either however, and as well as rushing off his line and ending up conceding in the second minute of his side’s Champions League defeat to Barcelona, he was then dismissed in the 2-2 draw with PSV Eindhoven on Wednesday night having rushed off his line before fouling Hirving Lozano.

We want Tottenham fans to vote on our poll below to tell us who they think should start if they do end up signing the highly-rated Pope, with Lloris potentially in decline despite being a World Cup winning stopper.
