Spurs are ‘interested’ in River Plate striker Lucas Alario, according to the player’s agent.
The 23-year-old has been in impressive for the Buenos Aires giants of late, scoring six goals in 13 league games in the 2016 season, boosting his reputation in the process.
Indeed, Liverpool have already been aligned with the 5ft. 10” hit-man, but Alario’s agent, Pedro Aldave, has claimed that alongside Genoa, who have made an offer for the youngster, Spurs are keen:
“Today Alario is at River. There was only one proposal, from Genoa, and interest of Tottenham. If Tottenham pays the clause, Alario is going.” He told LPM.
Alario is as of yet uncapped at senior international level and has only been with River Plate since June 2015, when he moved to the club from domestic rivals, Colon.
The South American joining Spurs may well hinge on the club’s pursuit of Vincent Janssen, who is thought to favour a move to the north London club despite interest from West Ham.
Alario’s goals have fired River to a midtable slot in the Zone 1 table of the 2016 Argentine Premera Division after 16 games.
