The remaining fixtures for the side should all be treated as cup finals, according to Spurs defender Jan Vertonghen
Tottenham are in a race for Champions League football, with arch rivals Arsenal, Chelsea and Everton all pushing hard for the final two places in Europe’s elite club competition.
The north Londoners have to face both Chelsea and Manchester City before the end of the Premier League campaign and Vertonghen is calling on his team-mates to make the most of their enforced break when they return to action.
“We have to stay together and to go for that top four place in the Premier League,” Vertonghen said.
“We have a rest, we clear our heads and we come back against Manchester City.
“A lot of players could be coming back, important players and we only have big games now, City, Chelsea, all cup finals. We go for the highest place possible.”
