Tottenham signed Giovani Lo Celso last summer on loan until the end of the season, but the clause in the deal that granted them the option to sign him permanently has raised questions about his future.

Jose Mourinho has answered that question, and his response is being met well by excited Spurs fans, and for good reason, as he has hinted that Lo Celso will remain in North London for the long-term.

The Argentinian's spell at Spurs so far has been blighted with injury but he has scored two goals in 17 games, with signs of the ability he possesses occasionally on show.

With Christian Eriksen reportedly orchestrating a move away there could be more opportunity for the 23-year-old to display his talent and stake a place in the starting line-up, and supporters are pleased that they could get to see him play for their team beyond the current campaign.

It is quite significant support given the midfielder hasn't offered too much in terms of goals and assists, particularly when one considers the fact that it will cost the club €40m [£34m] to make him a permanent player in the summer.

As a result, he needs to start delivering soon if he is to prove that he is worth that much, and show that he can more than adequately replace Eriksen.
