[ad_pod ]Kieran Trippier has spent four years at Tottenham Hotspur and overall has been a success for Spurs since joining from Burnley in 2015.This season though has seen his standards dip, and if a large enough offer comes in for the World Cup star, then he will be allowed to leave.Jack Pitt-Brooke in The Independent, has claimed that Trippier will be joining Napoli this summer for £25m.

If Trippier were to leave for £25m, they would be making a profit of £21.5m, which would then allow them to sign a younger and more defensibly reliable replacement.

The England right-back has held off competition from Serge Aurier to establish himself as Mauricio Pochettino's first choice, however, if Spurs are to push for the title, then Pochettino must realise that a better option than Trippier is required.

The 28-year-old was sublime in the 2018 World Cup, but he has not hit those heights this season and has made quite a few defensive errors - including an embarrassing own-goal in Spurs' 2-0 defeat to Chelsea.

His delivery, which made him such a threat in Russia, has also got worse and he only has five assists this season compared with nine last year.

Trippier should be at the peak of his powers, but this campaign has not worked out for him - last year he was linked to Real Madrid for £50m, and maybe those rumours got to him, and his form has suffered as a result.

A move to Naples would allow the Bury-born ace to re-ignite his career and also make Spurs sign a right-back who will let them challenge for the title next year.
