Just a genius: Tottenham fans pay tribute to Dimitar Berbatov

Dimitar Berbatov – what a footballer.

He has actually not yet officially retired, but has been without a club since leaving Kerala Blasters last year.

Now 38, it would probably be fair to say that the forward’s best years are behind him, although he has never been a player to rely on pace and energy.

Berbatov arrived in English football from Bayer Leverkusen in 2006 and went on to score 46 times in 102 appearances for Tottenham Hotspur in all competitions.

Manchester United ultimately took the Bulgarian away from Spurs in 2008, but it seems clear that the Tottenham fans still have a high opinion of the striker given some of their comments about him.

Indeed, on Thursday, the London club’s official Twitter page posted a video of a goal which Berbatov scored against West Ham United.

And that led to a number of Spurs supporters taking to social media.

Some are still unhappy with Berbatov for joining United, but there is a general appreciation for his talent, which has helped him enjoy a brilliant career.
