Kane to stay at the Lane as Spurs look to tie up new deal

Tottenham Hotspur striker Harry Kane is set to be rewarded for his superb season so far for the Lilywhites by being offered a new contract – just six months after he signed a long-term deal at the North London club, according to the Telegraph.

The 21 year-old – who has been at White Hart Lane since childhood, having started his youth career there – is Spurs’ top scorer this campaign with 18 goals in all competitions. His brace against Chelsea in a 5-3 victory on New Year’s Day drew many plaudits, with a potential call-up to the England senior squad being mooted.

Kane only signed a new deal last August which takes him up to 2019, however the new offer on the table is believed to include a 12-month extension as well as a pay rise to £35,000 per week.

After initially finding it difficult to break into the Spurs first team, Kane has now emerged as Mauricio Pochettino’s preferred striker, ahead of Roberto Soldado and Emmanuel Adebayor.
