Tottenham Hotspur recently suffered the disappointment of being knocked out of the Champions League at the last-16 stage by Juventus.

However, they have an FA Cup semi-final against Manchester United to look forward to, and are on course to finish inside the top four of the Premier League.

Although, their hopes could be dented slightly depending on the result of this Sunday’s showdown against Chelsea.

The Blues could close the gap to two points if they defeat fourth-placed Spurs at Stamford Bridge, and they have history on their side given that the North London outfit have not won at the stadium since 1990.

The 2015-16 encounter at the Bridge is remembered by many, but not for the right reasons, as two mass brawls marred the dramatic 2-2 draw.

Tensions flared during the game, which was Tottenham’s last chance to keep themselves in the title race, but after relinquishing a 2-0 lead, the league crown was handed to Leicester City.

Ex-Liverpool player Mark Lawrenson thinks that it will be a competitive fixture, but believes that Chelsea will come out on top 2-0.

He wrote in his BBC Sport predictions:

“This is Chelsea's big chance to narrow the gap on Tottenham in the race for the top four, and it feels like a game they have to win if they are going overhaul them. It should be a lively one because there is not much love lost between the two teams. They will both be raring to go after the international break because they are both out of Europe, but I am going to go with Chelsea to win it.”
