Reported Tottenham Hotspur target Wilmar Barrios had a controversial evening during Colombia’s last 16 defeat to England on penalties on Tuesday night, but loads of Spurs fans are still keen to see the defensive midfielder arrive in north London this summer.
The 24-year-old was one of the South American nation’s standout players throughout their time in the 2018 World Cup, and he was often compared to Chelsea’s N’Golo Kante because of his style of play.
However, he was involved in a moment of madness with Three Lions captain Jordan Henderson where he pushed his head back into the Liverpool man’s chest/head, and he was probably fortunate to pick up just a yellow card instead of being dismissed just before half-time.
Loads of Tottenham supporters, others of whom don’t want their team to sign a Ligue 1 attacker, were quick to have their say on his latest display via social media, and while one described him as “a Colombian cross between Kante and Makelele”, another said they “would love him at Spurs”.
Here is just a selection of the Twitter reaction…

Tbf apart from the headbut and occasional foul. Barrios played superb. Hope he come to spurs

Wilmar Barrios was absolutely everywhere last night. A Colombian cross between Kante and Makelele plus the added ability to actually kick the ball further than 10m.
