Real Madrid may offer Fabio Coentrao to Tottenham as part of their efforts to prise Gareth Bale away from White Hart Lane, The Metro reports.
Talks surrounding Bale‘s future have reportedly been taking place this week between the two clubs, but no deal has yet been reached.
Now, Madrid are ready to offload wing-back Coentrao to Spurs, in order to tempt Andre Villas-Boas and Daniel Levy into parting with Bale.
Tottenham are supposedly already interested in the Portuguese star, who Real value at £10million, which could make an offer worth consideration.
It is thought the Spanish giants would have to offer at least £60million alongside Coentrao, however they are in a position to do so having sold Gonzalo Higuain, Jose Callejon and Raul Albiol to Napoli for a combined £46million.
Earlier this week though, Andre Villas-Boas reiterated his thoughts on Bale.
“He is a player that we are willing to continue to have, he’s a Tottenham player, he’s one of the most fantastic players in the world at the moment,” said the Spurs boss.
“I can’t make any more comments. I don’t want to repeat myself in all press conferences.”
Speculation that Manchester United are interested in Bale has not gone away yet either, but a move away from the Premier League is thought preferable from Spurs’ point of view.
