Mahrez, Ozil… No, Spurs could have the key man in title race

The Premier League title race, as unpredictable as it’s been this season, seems to be edging towards its climax, and it looks as if the winner will come in the shape of Leicester, Spurs, Arsenal or, if they can get their act together, Manchester City. With just six points separating the aforementioned quartet, the battle is going to be a tight one… and it may come down to which side has the ‘form’ player.

And the club with the man of the moment is Spurs.

As the numbers, crunched by the guys at show, over the last five Premier League matches, Christian Eriksen tops the list in terms of pretty much everything an attacking midfielder is judged on.

The Dane has scored more goals, three, than any other midfielder playing for a top four side, had more shots (17), boasts a better take-on success rate and has made more passes (242). His direct competitors include Riyad Mahrez and Mesut Ozil, who have been talked about as Player of the Year contenders, and £49m man, Raheem Sterling.
