Manchester United reluctant to sell Martial, Tottenham Hotspur fans react

The future of Anthony Martial continues to spark conversation as the saga is no closer to being resolved.

The Manchester United attacker has been heavily linked with a move to Tottenham Hotspur, as well as Juventus.

The latest twist coming out of the Manchester Evening News is that the Red Devils are reluctant to agree to a sale as they are worried that he could repeat Mohamed Salah’s success.

After playing a bit-part role under Jose Mourinho at Chelsea, the Egyptian international went on to flourish at Roma and now Liverpool, where he scored 44 goals in his first season at Anfield.

Martial started just 18 Premier League matches under Mourinho at United last season, and it has been widely suggested that the Frenchman is ready to move on.

In the same report, the Manchester Evening News claimed that Tottenham have been “frightened off” by United’s asking price, but the publication did not specify the amount wanted for Martial, who joined the Red Devils from Monaco for around £36m in 2015.

This latest development has got Tottenham fans talking on Twitter, with some urging the club to take the same approach with regards to United’s alleged interest in Toby Alderweireld and Danny Rose.
