Matias Vecino is showing Tottenham and Chelsea all the signs he could excel in the Premier League

Matias Vecino is hot property this summer with both Tottenham Hotspur and Chelsea interested in signing the Uruguay international, according to Italian news outlet Calcio Mercato.

The 26-year-old only signed for Inter Milan last summer from Fiorentina and went on to make 29 appearances in Serie A for the Nerazzurri, scoring three goals and assisting two.

The central midfielder’s performances have earned him a World Cup call up and he has so far impressed in each of Uruguay’s group games as they sealed their passage to the knockout rounds with ease.

Vecino is valued at £18.9million on Transfermarkt and according to the report, potential new Chelsea boss Maurizio Sarri is keen to sign the player, as is Spurs boss Mauricio Pochettino.

Judging by his performance against Russia in the final round of Group A matches at the World Cup, it is easy to see why he is so coveted.

Vecino covers the whole pitch and is always wanting the ball and linking up with other players.

The box-to-box midfielder registered 63 passes and enjoyed a passing success rate of 92.1 per cent.

He made three interceptions and won three aerial battles, showing his defensive capabilities and he also made one key pass in the match.

Vecino seems ready made for the Premier League with his combination of technique and athleticism and he could be a great signing for either Chelsea or Tottenham this summer.
