Jose Mourinho is still getting to grips with his Spurs team and although there has been progress in terms of moving up the table, not all fans are happy with the Portuguese boss.

A narrow victory over Brighton on Boxing Day left a lot to be desired and evidenced yet again that there is plenty of work to do if Mourinho is to convince supporters that he was the right appointment, as he is a bit of a divisive figure.

The game was quite equal throughout despite the Seagull's lowly league position, as the away side managed as many shots as Mourinho's outfit, who were once again slow on the ball and lacked creativity.

There have been disappointing results and insipid performances but there are signs of progress, with the form of Dele Alli a particular highlight.

Mourinho has only been in the job a matter of weeks and perhaps with more time and influence over the squad, he will be able to get the team playing in the manner he wants. That could mean results against lower opposition may become more of a formality, and prevent more accusations that the team has gone backwards under him.
