Next spurs boss already agreed – Gullit

Ruud Gullit claims Louis van Gaal is already set to become the new Tottenham manager, according to the Independent.

van Gaal, who is the current Netherlands coach, has met with Daniel Levy and agreed a deal to take over at White Hart Lane, according to the former Chelsea manager: “I know for sure the chairman of Tottenham was at van Gaal’s house. I think it’s a done deal, but you never know.” said Gullit.

Speculation has grown over Sherwood’s future as Spurs boss, after recent results haven’t all gone Tottenham’s way. Sherwood, who took over from the sacked Andre Villas-Boas in December, was given an 18-month contract as Spurs boss. But difficult results, including a home loss to Arsenal, and heavy defeats to Chelsea and Manchester City in the last two months, have led to speculation over Sherwood’s future as Spurs boss.

Guus Hiddink has already been confirmed as the future Netherlands manager, and will take over from Van Gaal after the World Cup this summer, leaving the former Bayern Munich boss jobless.

Spurs are currently 6th, 8 points behind rivals Arsenal in 4th. Sherwood’s men have the chance to close the gap with the Gunners when they travel to Anfield this weekend.
