Tottenham have been linked with a move for West Brom starlet Oliver Burke, but they would be much better served chasing PSG wonderkid Timothy Weah.

What's the story?

According to reports, both Tottenham and Newcastle are eyeing a move for 21 year-old Burke.

Tottenham were heavily linked with a move for Jack Grealish this summer, but it’s time for Daniel Levy to stop bargain-hunting and look to raid one of Europe’s big guns.

PSG have a host of attacking players itching to start every game, which is limiting opportunities for Weah.

The American starlet, who can play as a winger or striker, would develop much more under Mauricio Pochettino, and could be Tottenham’s best signing since Dele Alli.

Better than Burke?

There’s no question Burke has plenty of talent, as the young winger grabbed himself a goal and two assists despite starting just five times in the Bundesliga during his stint With Red Bull Leipzig.

However, Weah is on a completely different level, potentially ready to break out and become one of Europe’s elite young attackers.

The 18 year-old has seven senior caps for the USA, scoring once, and has already managed to find the net in Ligue 1 this season despite only starting one match.

Weah has wonderful acceleration, balance and agility, allowing him to effortlessly drift past defenders as if they aren’t even there.

His composure and vision with the ball is far superior to most players at his age, but most importantly he just has the natural predatory instincts needed to be a top striker.

Whether he got those instincts from his father, legendary striker George Weah, or from training with Neymar and Edinson Cavani every day, the youngster could be the perfect understudy for Harry Kane.

His versatility would also allow Pochettino to use him on the wing, adding another weapon to the arsenal of attacking talent at his disposal.
