Tottenham are yet to tie Christian Eriksen down to a new deal, and if the Danish international leaves the club then Daniel Levy simply must splash the cash on Real Madrid’s Isco.

What's the word?

Tottenham fans were freaking out last week when some Eriksen comments from 2014 surfaced, in which the 26 year-old confessed he has a “secret plan”, a plan that plenty of fans suspect involves a move to Spain.

With his contract set to expire in the summer of 2020, the Lilywhites will have to sell the Dane this summer if they cannot convince him to extend his deal, rather than risk losing him for nothing next season.

Levy will then have no option but to spend big on his replacement, and one fan claims Isco is the only viable option.

Could it happen?

Well, the Real Madrid ace is out of favour with manager Santiago Solari, and he played just 33 minutes in the European champions’ shock 2-0 defeat to Real Sociedad on Sunday.

The 26 year-old has started just five La Liga games this season, scoring once, and reports in Europe suggest the only way he will stay in Madrid is if Solari gets sacked.

While there will no doubt be plenty of clubs sniffing around for his signature, Tottenham will have the funds to get a deal done if Eriksen is sold.

Just how good is he?

The Spanish international is yet to produce consistent end product on par with Eriksen, but his raw talent and skill would set the Premier League alight.

With 46 goals and 53 assists in 260 Real Madrid appearances, he is silky on the bally, has excellent vision and passing range, and also possesses the work rate and versatility to fit perfectly in a Pochettino team.
