Pundit tweets high praise for Tottenham star Alli, football fans react

Tottenham Hotspur star Dele Alli has had a mixed bag of performances so far this season, with some claiming that he is yet to reach his best form.

In the last two years, the midfielder has gone from MK Dons to a regular in the Spurs team, as well as in the England fold.

The 21-year-old has been criticised in the past for having a nasty streak on the pitch, which has sometimes got him into trouble.

On Wednesday night at Wembley, Alli showed glimpses of that, but ultimately he shined by scoring twice in a 3-1 triumph over Champions League opponents Real Madrid.

Manager Mauricio Pochettino did not have the midfielder available for selection in the first three group games due to a UEFA ban, but now the youngster is free to perform in the elite competition.

Former Premier League striker Stan Collymore has since taken to Twitter to hail Alli’s qualities and backed him to one day captain England.

As expected, fans of various football clubs had plenty to say on the subject.
