Real Madrid star Luka Modric is backing former club Tottenham Hotspur for an unlikely Premier League title win, report the Daily Mail.
The Croatian midfielder plying his trade for the North London giants between 2008 and 2012, before moving to the Spanish capital in a big money deal.
Now, the Los Blancos star has praised the work current Spurs chief Mauricio Pochettino has done at White Hart Lane.
The club lie in second position behind even more unlikely leaders Leicester City, five points off top spot as things stand.
‘I follow them a lot. Almost whenever I can, I watch them playing’, revealed the 30-year old midfielder.
‘They’re playing really well, amazing, they have a good coach and they are very close to winning the league,’ he added.
Current Spurs superstar Harry Kane was still honing his craft as a youth player during Modric’s spell at the club, and the Croat has praised the England man’s hard work, even back then.
‘You could see that he is a hard worker in training. Sometimes he used to come to training in short sleeves and outside it was minus five.’
