Tottenham were nearly stunned by Watford in the Carabao Cup last week, and fans were mightily impressed by former Chelsea midfielder Nathaniel Chalobah.
Tottenham scraped past Watford on penalties last week, and there’s no question who Watford’s standout player was.
Chalobah joined the Hornets from Chelsea last summer but missed nearly all of last season with a knee injury.
The 23 year-old has never really gotten a fair crack at a Premier League club due to Chelsea’s infamous loan system, but he showed his class on Wednesday.
It was clear the 6 ft 2 in youngster was not fully match fit, but his quality on the ball is far superior to the likes of Eric Dier and Victor Wanyama, and this combination of physicality and technical skill would make him a useful asset to have.
Mauricio Pochettino has a habit of turning young English players into superstars, but fans are split on making a 2019 move for the 23 year-old.
