Reports last week claimed Tottenham could move for Burnley’s Nick Pope, and over two thirds of Tottenham fans think he would be the perfect competition for Hugo Lloris.
According to The Mirror, Tottenham are plotting a “keeper reshuffle” this summer, a reshuffle that would include bringing Pope to North London.
Michel Vorm is expected to leave the club next summer, meaning the club will have just two senior goalkeepers on the books.
Both Lloris and Vorm have taken some stick this season, and one has to wonder how much pressure there is on Lloris to perform when his back-up is clearly not up to par.
The arrival of Pope would bring immediate competition for that number one shirt, and with the sudden emergence of Paulo Gazzaniga Spurs would have three hungry goalkeepers competing for a place.
Pope has been injured for most of this season after dislocating his shoulder in a Europa League qualifying match, but last season’s saves per goal ratio of 2.7 is considerably higher than Lloris’ 2.2.
