Tottenham Hotspur fans have voted in favour of signing Borussia Dortmund midfielder Mario Gotze this summer, after being linked with a move for him last week.

Football.london reported that Gotze was an £18m target for Spurs in this transfer window after gradually falling out of favour at Bundesliga giants Borussia Dortmund, with the player eager for the chance to play in the Premier League.

Gotze's reputation has waned in recent years but he was once seen as one of the best young players in the world, shining for Dortmund, Bayern Munich and Germany, scoring the World Cup winning goal for his country in 2014.

Signing him at this stage of his career may be seen as something of a risk given issues with his form and fitness but it appears that Tottenham supporters would love to see him arrive in London.

A massive 70% of respondents to a poll we published at the weekend believe that the club should make a move for him this summer.
