According to the results of our recent poll, a large majority of Tottenham fans want youngster Kyle Walker-Peters to start at right-back in the clash with Southampton on Wednesday evening.
Kieran Trippier has been out with injury for the past three games in all competitions, and although he is back in training it’s clear that Spurs fans don’t want to risk the 28-year-old against the struggling Saints.
Serge Aurier has been filling in during Trippier’s absence, but the Ivory Coast international put in a shockingly bad performance in the North London derby against Arsenal, and his position could now be at risk.
In fact, 89 per cent of those who answered our poll said that 21-year-old Walker-Peters should get the nod. The England U21 international has only made one appearance so far this season in the Carabao Cup win over West Ham, but the 5ft 8in ace is an U20 World Cup winner and should be trusted by Mauricio Pochettino ahead of Aurier.
