Loads of Tottenham fans are urging the club to move for Netherlands wonderkid Matthijs de Ligt, after reports last week claimed the defender will not move to Barcelona.

According to a recent report from AS (via Sports Mole), Barcelona are no longer in the running to sign de Ligt.

The Belgian international could leave relatively easily in the summer when his £25m release clause kicks in, and de Ligt is the perfect player to replace him.

The 19 year-old, valued at a whopping £58.5m by Transfermarkt, is wanted by several of Europe’s top clubs, but the appeal of playing under Mauricio Pochettino could be enough to bring him to North London.

De Ligt is a born leader, reads the game superbly and is incredibly composed on the ball - all the makings of being Tottenham’s next “Toby”.

A whopping 90 per cent of fans think they should pay whatever it takes to land de Ligt, and you can view the full poll results down below…
