Earlier on we asked you who you thought was Tottenham’s man of the match against Liverpool in a thriller of a game at Anfield on Sunday afternoon.
It was a tight run thing: Victor Wanyama scored a big 7.2 out of 10 on average, presumably thanks to his wonderstrike whilst the man he replaced, Mousa Dembele scored 7.3. But the winner, edging it with 7.5 was 98-cap Belgian international Jan Vertonghen.
It was a tough game for defenders. Any 2-2 usually is, but with the attacking talent on display and the frantic pace the game was often played at, composure and calmness under pressure is vital. Vertonghen had that, making four tackles, getting on the ball with plenty of touches and making sure the play ticked over nicely.
With Mo Salah to deal with on every Liverpool counter-attack, he and Davinson Sanchez had to be at their best, and Vertonghen was as elegant as a Rolls Royce when he was called upon.
In many ways, he is a deserving winner. The full results are below...
