Tottenham fans have been debating a move for another striker this summer, and it seems the vast majority agree they need more firepower up front.

When Harry Kane went down with an ankle injury last season, every Tottenham fans’ heart sunk.

The Tottenham talisman, who signed a new contract this week, rolled his ankle in the win at Bournemouth back in March, and while he returned remarkably quickly after the international break, it was not the first time he has had injury troubles towards the end of a season.

It’s been a problem for Spurs ever since Kane broke into the side – find a striker that’s good enough to provide adequate support for the Englishman, but also one who doesn’t mind playing second fiddle for the majority of the season.

Vincent Janssen was a complete disaster, and the young Dutchman has struggled with injuries on loan in Turkey.

Fernando Llorente was brought in last summer to offer something slightly different, but just like Janssen he failed to take any of the pressure off Kane.

Son Heung-min can of course function as a striker if needs must, but the South Korean is at his best terrorising defences from a slightly deeper position, so Pochettino has to find another way to take the pressure off Kane.

A whopping 86 per cent of fans want to sign another striker this summer, as it could be a major factor in keeping Kane at his very best for years to come.
