Tottenham Hotspur were ridiculed during the summer transfer window for failing to make a single signing.

At the moment, though, Mauricio Pochettino and his men are having the last laugh as they have started off the Premier League season with a winning mentality.

The North London outfit earned a 2-1 victory over Newcastle United on the opening weekend of the campaign, and on Saturday, cruised past Fulham 3-1 at Wembley.

Everything is running smoothly at the moment, but there is one player who may feel slightly concerned about his position - Davinson Sanchez.

Based on his performance against the Cottagers, the defender may find himself losing his place to Toby Alderweireld, who was thought to be on his way out of the club this summer.

Sanchez played alongside Alderweireld and Jan Vertonghen as part of a back three, but was substituted in the 63rd minute to make way for midfielder Mousa Dembele.

During his time on the pitch, Sanchez managed to make two clean tackles and blocked two shots, but he was not as present as in matches last season.

The Colombian made just the once clearance compared to Alderweireld's four, and he also failed to snatch back possession in his own half.

The fact that Pochettino hauled Sanchez off in the second half suggests that if the team start with a back four in future matches, he will not be included.

Ironically, the man who appeared to be on the way out of Spurs could end up forcing Sanchez from the lineup.
