Serie A giants ready a loan move for Tottenham newbie

Inter Milan are preparing a shock loan move for Tottenham attacker Erik Lamela, according to reports from the Daily Star.

The Argentine ace only joined Spurs in a club-record £30m deal from Roma over the summer, but has failed to make any sort of impact at White Hart Lane so far.

Lamela – who has been compared to compatriot Lionel Messi in the past – is rumoured to be struggling to adjust to life in London both on and off of the pitch, leading to speculation of a move back to Italy.

Inter are ready to pounce for the 21-year-old, and are hopeful that Tim Sherwood’s side will allow him to make a short-term swoop in the coming weeks.

The San Siro side have recently been taken over by wealthy Indonesian businessman Erick Thohir, who is said to be ready to invest heavily in the club’s playing staff in a bid to mount a league challenge.

Lamela is seen as an ideal short-term addition, with a potential permanent move a possibility once a possible loan has expired.

Spurs are said to be against the idea of letting their starlet leave, but the player himself is rumoured to be keen on a move back to Serie A ahead of the 2014 World Cup.
