Tottenham Hotspur goalkeeper Hugo Lloris has been given serious praise by a club legend, who claimed the Frenchman is the best stopper to ever represent the Lilywhites.
Lloris joined the north London outfit four years ago from Lyon and now captains the club, having helped transform Spurs from nearly-men to Premier League title contenders and established himself as a key figure for Mauricio Pochettino’s side.
The 29-year-old has conceded just one goal from open play in the Premier League this season, leading many to suggest he’s the best stopper within England’s top-flight, and Teddy Sheringham has gone even further by telling The Evening Standard that he’s the best goalie Tottenham have ever had.
When asked who Spurs’ all-time best stopper is, Sheringham responded by saying:
“Lloris – very lively, agile goalie and a rock and foundation of the team right now,”
The France international will now be looking to establish himself as the greatest, without any argument, by winning honours with the White Hart Lane side and putting his name in the history books.
