Shock Tottenham transfer swoop revealed

Newcastle's Yohan CabayeTottenham could be in for Newcastle midfielder Yohan Cabaye, according to Paris Saint-Germain manager Laurent Blanc, the Daily Star reports.

Blanc spoke about his desire to sign the Frenchman for PSG publicly last month, which left Newcastle boss Alan Pardew very unhappy.

“He can get on the phone to me, or make a bid. I think that’s the right way to do it,” Pardew said.

“I think the way it’s come out isn’t respectful to Yohan.”

But despite Pardew’s words, Blanc has now stated that he hopes Cabaye will be at a big club by the end of the summer, suggesting that Tottenham are interested in the 27-year-old.

“He is a very good player. I have not changed my mind [about him],”Blanc said.

“For now, he is at Newcastle. I have also read he is in Tottenham’s plans.

“Newcastle, Tottenham or Paris – I hope he will still be at a big club in September.”

Cabaye has made 73 appearances for the Magpies since joining in 2011, lighting up the Premier League with some moments of brilliance.

Previously he made over 200 appearances for Lille in Ligue 1 with his career exploits also seeing him win 23 international caps.
