Southampton expect key star to leave amid Spurs transfer interest

According to reports from Sky Sports, Southampton expect Tottenham Hotspur target Victor Wanyama to be lured away from the club during the summer transfer window.

The Kenyan international has established himself as a key cog of the Saints starting Xi since signing from Celtic in summer 2013, registering 92 appearances across all competitions, and is now regarded as one of the top enforcers in the Premier League.

But according to Sky Sources, the St. Mary’s outfit are anticipating the 24-year-old will be tempted to leave the club during the summer transfer window – and with his contract due to expire at the end of next season, they will struggle to turn down decent offers.

Tottenham Hotspur are known long-term admirers of the 6 foot 2 defensive midfielder – linked by The Daily Mail in April – and their interest is documented once again by Sky Sports, who claim the Lilywhites were targeting Wanyama last summer.

The latest revolution could be enough to convince the Lilywhites to launch a formal bid.
