The past twelve months have been far beyond the expectations of any Tottenham supporter, with the club having gone close to a Premier League title win and returned to the Champions League.

White Hart Lane played host to some exciting matches and big moments during the last calendar year, and the Lilywhites, naturally, scored some stunning goals along the way.

Pochettino has galvanised the north Londoners once again this season, and the team now have a club-record total of points for this stage of a Premier League season.

Harry Kane has contributed with the most Premier League goals for the Lilywhites having scored 25 times over the course of a twelve month period, but the England man wasn't the only one to net some spectacular goals.

Here are the FIVE best strikes from Tottenham during 2016 - which one is your favourite?

5. Heung-Min Son - Swansea

Swansea were the victims when Spurs finally managed to end their eleven-game winless run this term. The Lilywhites ran out 5-0 winners at White Hart Lane in December, but one goal, in particular, stood head and shoulders above the rest.

South Korean forward Son was innovative as he fired Spurs into a 2-0 lead. The attacker showed remarkable technique before smashing a volley past Lukasz Fabianski in the Swansea goal.

It was his first goal since September and was long overdue.

4. Christian Eriksen - Chelsea

It's been twenty-six years since Tottenham last recorded a victory over Chelsea at Stamford Bridge.

During their clash at the Bridge in November Eriksen gave the travelling Spurs faithful plenty of cause for optimism when picked the ball up outside the Chelsea box before firing a wonderful shot past Thibaut Courtois.

It was the first goal their west London rivals had conceded in two months, yet the Lilywhites lost the game 2-1.

3. Christian Eriksen - Gillingham

Danish international Eriksen appears on our list once more, and his strike against Gillingham in the EFL Cup was a moment of sheer brilliance.

The midfielder picked the ball up outside the box before firing an unstoppable shot into the net to give Spurs the lead in the contest.

2. Harry Kane - Arsenal

In any other given year, Harry Kane's wonder-strike against bitter rivals Arsenal would be confirmed as the goal of the year.

However, this time it comes in as No.2, but the 23-years-old's moment of brilliance still lives long in the memory of the Spurs faithful.

He's certainly the man for the big occasion, and he showcased his talent once again when he bagged the winner to ensure Spurs' title charge was still a realistic possibility in March.

1. Dele Alli - Crystal Palace

Dele Alli's strike could be labelled the greatest individual goal in the Premier League last year.

The midfielder's breakthrough season was one of many positives, and this strike at Selhurst Park further added to his growing reputation.

Neat chest control, a flick and an exquisite volley ensured Spurs were victorious over Palace during their clash in January.
