Spurs confident of beating Monday deadline to snap up problem-solving star

Spurs are hopeful of beating the looming transfer deadline to secure a deal for impressive Fulham striker Moussa Dembele, according to reports from Goal.

The 19-year-old hit-man’s future has been the subject of much debate over the course of the past few weeks, with a move this month having looked likely for a while due to his contract ticking towards its summer expiry.

It’s already been claimed that the Cottagers are ready to offload their teenage ace to avoid the prospect of missing out on vital funds, even though the London club are positioned perilously close to the Championship’s relegation zone.

And now reports claim that city rivals Tottenham are confident of getting Dembele on board before Monday night’s transfer deadline passes, with a £5m fee being mooted.

The youngster has netted 11 goals in all competitions this term and would provide cover for Harry Kane at White Hart Lane, with Mauricio Pochettino’s squad currently short of options to lead the line.
