Spurs considering midfield makeweight for Newcastle deal

According to reports from Mirror Football, Tottenham Hotspur are considering using Nabil Bentaleb as a makeweight in a deal to sign Newcastle United midfielder Moussa Sissoko.

Bentaleb is a promising talent but slumped down the pecking order behind the likes of Moussa Dembele, Eric Dier and Dele Alli last season.

The Algerian international has reportedly asked to leave White Hart Lane but the Lilywhites are holding out for £15million; they’ve already rejected a £10million bid from FC Schalke.

And they’re now considering using the 21-year-old as a makeweight to bring down Newcastle’s asking price for Moussa Sissoko, who produced a dazzling display in the Euro 2016 final against Portugal.
