Tottenham Hotspur are attempting to sign Dani Ceballos on loan from Real Madrid but are demanding that a purchase option be included in any deal, sources have told Football FanCast.

Spurs are attempting to strengthen their squad under Mauricio Pochettino this summer, having already bought Tanguy Ndombele from Lyon and Jack Clarke from Leeds United.

The club broke their transfer record to acquire Ndombele and are in talks with Real over a deal to bring in Ceballos, who has recently helped Spain’s Under-21 side to victory in the European Championships in Italy and San Marino.

Sources have told FFC that the negotiations centre on a potential loan and Spurs are keen to include a clause that would allow them to purchase him for £45m next summer.

The deal, however, appears a complicated one to do.

Ceballos is keen to stay at Santiago Bernabeu this summer, though Real are said to be willing to move him on.

He said earlier this month, per AS: "I don't want them to sell me... I want to have fun and feel important wherever I am. I've got more than enough football in me and next year's going to be my best ever."

There is the possibility that the 22-year-old could be included in any deal for Christian Eriksen, who is reported to be a target of Los Blancos in this transfer window.

It does, of course, remain to be seen if the Dane will end up at Santiago Bernabeu; Real are also said to be interested in Manchester United’s Paul Pogba.

Nevertheless, sources have told FFC that a loan deal for Ceballos would be a low-risk approach, with Spurs able to see how he adjusts to English football before committing to any potential permanent transfer.

It remains to be seen if a deal can be reached with the player, however. While he is said to be open to a possible loan move away from the club, per Marca, he is not keen on a permanent move, threatening the structure of the deal Spurs are attempting to strike.

FFC has also been told that the north London club are interested in Ryan Sessegnon at Fulham, while there have been discussions over the possibility of bidding for Norwich City right-back Max Aarons.
