Spurs eager to use unsettled star as bait for summer targets in January

Tottenham are ready to offer Andros Townsend as part of a deal for either Saido Berahino or Yannick Bolasie in January, according to reports from HITC.

The attacking duo were both major targets for Spurs over the summer, but swoops didn’t come to fruition and the club instead secured a late move for Son Heung-min.

However, reports claim that both Bolasie and Berahino remain players the London club want at White Hart Lane, and that they’re eager to offer Townsend to Crystal Palace or West Brom in exchange.

Although Spurs are aware the mid-season deals for either are unlikely, they’re keen to assess interest from the Eagles and the Baggies in their own player, who has fallen out of favour in recent times.

Townsend is reportedly considering a move away from the club after being overlooked by Mauricio Pochettino on a number of occasions and falling out with a fitness coach following Monday’s win over Aston Villa.

Summer swap deals appear more likely, however, the Tottenham man may be keen to move on sooner with winning a place in England’s EURO 2016 squad on his agenda
