Spurs eye World Cup winning star

Tottenham are monitoring £16m-rated Juventus striker Fernando Llorente ahead of a potential summer move, according to reports from the Daily Star.

Spurs fans have enjoyed the rise of Harry Kane this season – the young England forward has hit over 20 goals already – but the decline and stagnation of Emmanuel Adebayor and Roberto Soldado respectively has been a worry at White Hart Lane.

Numerous marksmen were linked with Spurs over January, yet the London club failed to get a deal over the line.

And now it seems they’re keen to get a new face in at the end of the campaign with Llorente an option.

The 6ft. 5” target man won the World Cup with Spain back in 2010 – albeit he played a minimal role – but has struggled since moving from Athletic Bilbao to Juventus in 2013 – he’s notched only 23 goals.

However, that has not deterred Tottenham boss Mauricio Pochettino, who is said to be keen on the giant goal-getter.
