As reported by The Daily Star, Tottenham Hotspur are set to make a bid for Crystal Palace’s Wilfried Zaha in a deal that could be worth up to £25m.
Spurs have hardly been wanting for goals this season but Mauricio Pochettino is looking to add some creativity and threat to his side with a move for the Eagles’ in-form star winger.
The Daily Star reckon that Mauricio Pochettino has remained a big fan of the former England international despite having three bids for him rejected in the summer.
At the reported £25m, he’d come at a high price but with prices ballooning and the fact he is just 24, it’s a number that could prove a bargain in the long run if Pochettino can get the best out of him.
With 6 assists and 3 goals this season already, Zaha is in some of the best form of his career at the highest level.
His pace and direct approach to playing the game would suit Spurs well, who have lacked that killer edge in the final third at times this season. While Dele Alli and Christian Eriksen provide plenty of threat, Zaha would offer genuine width and the ability to expose full-backs.
The uptick in assists this year shows he is finally finding an end product and with Harry Kane in the middle, Spurs have a striker that can stick those chances away.
