Spurs face Fiorentina in £22.8m transfer battle for Serie A dribble king

According to reports from Tutto Sport, Tottenham Hotspur have Palermo’s Franco Vazquez in their transfer crosshairs.

The Argentina-born Italy international has emerged as a crucial member of the Palermo starting Xi over the last few seasons – finishing the 2014/15 campaign with an impressive ten goals and ten assists in 37 league appearances.

The attacking midfielder has produced strong form yet again this term, amassing eight strikes and seven set-ups whilst averaging the most successful dribbles per match, 3.5, of any player in Serie A.

And there appears to be plenty of interest in the 27-year-old ahead of the transfer window, with Tutto Sport mooting Fiorentina and Tottenham Hotspur as potential summer suitors.

Fiorentina reportedly view Vazquez as an ideal fit for their 3-4-2-1 formation, whilst Spurs view him as a potential addition for their Champions League campaign.

But Palermo certainly aren’t going to part with their talismanic attacker on the cheap, rating him at around the £22.3million mark.
