Tottenham Hotspur fans have poured scorn on a Sky Sports report claiming that the club will have to sell before they can buy if they complete the signing of Lyon midfielder Tanguy Ndombele.
Lyall Thomas, who covers Spurs, claims that Mauricio Pochettino was promised a chunk of the club’s prize money for reaching the Champions League final, which comes to around £65m.

The deal for Ndombele, the report claims, comes to £65m.
As such, the club have now reportedly been left in the position of needing to sell players before they can bring any more through the door, though they have been heavily linked with Leeds United’s Jack Clarke and Fulham’s Ryan Sessegnon.
And supporters have expressed their doubts over the report, with many believing that a summer of investment is coming after Spurs reached the Champions League final in 2018/19 and finished fourth in the Premier League.

Rubbish, they pay the full amount, clubs pay instalments ! Profits made from our Wembley revenue!

That cannot be true

I’m struggling with this. You can’t guarantee CL progression, to say that that is our entire summer budget is strange. Take the CL money away and we are in exactly the same position as 2 years ago? Having to sell to buy? I just don’t see it. Must have 100m available this summer.

Sky sports doing what sky sports do, peddling lies. They seriously think after 2 windows not spending a penny (and selling Dembele) that we only have some of the money from 1 seasons UCL campaign available? Doesn’t ring true to me

So many conflicting reports on what’s available to spend. It’s almost as if nobody really knows other than the people that matter….

So spurs who give nothing away are telling sky how much we have to spend. Total nonsense.
