Tottenham fans have been discussing the potential return of Vincent Janssen after the Dutch striker made his return from ankle injury.
It’s been a difficult task for Tottenham in the transfer window – find a striker that doesn’t expect to be starting week in week out, but that’s good enough to fill in for the formidable Harry Kane when he is fatigued or injured.
23 year-old Janssen was supposed to hit that perfect balance when he joined in 2016, but the Dutchman only managed two league goals after grabbing a remarkable 27 in his only season with AZ Alkmaar.
After a summer of rumours and links to every club under the sun, Janssen eventually joined Turkish side Fenerbahçe on loan, but fractured his ankle in December and has not featured since.
Spurs fans are now hoping to give the striker another chance, after he tweeted pictures of his return to training.
A lengthy spell on the sidelines during a loan is just about the worst thing for a player, but Janssen did manage two goals and four assists before his injury.
Supporters have been discussing his future role at the club, and it seems like a pretty even split. Some of the best Twitter reactions can be found below…
In hindsight i would have not bought Janssen or Llorente and kept Defoe…..

You can't blame a weapon of is not being used what it's good for

Vinny had the potential to improve whereas Llorente is in the twilight of his career so in hindsight I would have kept Vinny.

The potential in Vinny is an advantage over the 32 year old Llorente. I'd take him back if he understands and accepts the work ethic required.
