Spurs fans hail Alderweireld performance

Tottenham Hotspur fans have hailed Toby Alderweireld after his performance against AFC Bournemouth on Saturday.

Spurs picked up their third win on the trot under Jose Mourinho against the Cherries, thanks to a brace from Dele Alli and a goal from Moussa Sissoko.

Alderweireld was at the centre of proceedings throughout the game, playing the long, raking passes that led to the first and second goals.

His first ball was controlled by Son Heung-Min, who played Alli in to score, while the second found the England international’s chest, and he controlled it before firing past Aaron Ramsdale.

Throughout the 90 minutes, the Belgium international recorded 80 touches of the ball and tallied a pass completion rate of 89%, per WhoScored, while also winning three aerial duels, one tackle, two interceptions and three clearances.

And supporters have hailed his display as Spurs continued their fine start under Mourinho’s management.
