What a start to the second half we nearly had in Bayer Leverkusen v Tottenham.
The Lilywhites have been arguably the better side so far in this game but a bright start from Leverkusen to the second 45 saw them come agonisingly close to scoring.
A ball in to Javier Hernandez was duly dispatched at goal by the Mexican before Hugo Lloris somehow scrambled across to claw the ball away before it fully crossed the line.
It really was close as goal-line technology came into play to confirm the referee had made the right call to rule no goal despite the best efforts of the former Manchester United striker to persuade the fifth official otherwise.
Too close for comfort would be doing it a disservice for some Spurs fans who had their hearts in their mouths and they’ve certainly reacted to it on Twitter saying both how close it looked and lavishing praise on Hugo Lloris. Here are some of the best tweets…

Magic, you might say. Hugo Lloris will not make many better saves than that.
