According to Sky Sports, Tottenham have agreed a deal to loan winger Georges-Kevin N'Koudou to German side Mainz, but Spurs fans on Twitter weren't happy after he impressed in pre-season for Mauricio Pochettino's side.

Spurs had more players reach the final weekend of the World Cup than any other club across world football and as such, their preseason tour of the US consisted mainly of youngsters and fringe players. N'Koudou seemed to have taken the chance to impress though, scoring against AC Milan and Barcelona in the International Champions Cup.

The Frenchman joined Spurs for £11m in the summer of 2016 but has struggled for game time and spent the second half of last season on loan with Sean Dyche's Burnley. He may have felt he would get a chance to impress in North London this season though after Tottenham failed to make any additions in the transfer window.

At just 23 years of age, N'Koudou has plenty of time to develop and it seems as though Spurs fans would have liked him to do that by staying with Mauricio Pochettino and playing a bit-part role this season. Check out some of the best tweets in reaction to the loan deal below.
