Tottenham fans on Twitter were absolutely delighted after their captain Hugo Lloris lifted the World Cup for France and star striker Harry Kane won the tournament’s golden boot for most goals scored.
Lloris captained the French side who beat Croatia 4-2 to win the final in Moscow on Sunday, although his catastrophic mistake did lead to Croatia’s second goal as he was tackled in his six-yard box by Mario Mandzukic. It was perhaps only this mistake that meant he missed out on the golden glove for best goalkeeper to Chelsea man Thibaut Courtois, after both keepers had extremely impressive tournaments.
Kane continued his fine goalscoring form from last season as he netted six goals in his six matches in Russia, including a hat trick against Panama, to win the golden boot award.
Some Spurs fans also noted that their players played more minutes than those from other Premier League teams throughout the tournament, something which they will hope does not affect the start of their league campaign that begins on 11 August with an away trip to Newcastle.

For anyone doubting the contribution of @SpursOfficial players at the World Cup;
1) Hugo Lloris is a World Cup winning captain for France.
2) Harry Kane wins the Golden Boot.
3) Spurs players have contributed the most goals at World Cup 2018.
