According to the Daily Mirror, Tottenham are interested in signing defensive midfielder Stanislav Lobotka from Celta Vigo, and fans of the North London club on Twitter have been getting excited with the rumours.

Spurs are yet to sign a single player so far this summer, despite having the most players of any club reach the final rounds of the World Cup. Boss Mauricio Pochettino said at the end of last season that chairman Daniel Levy should be brave and take risks in the transfer market this summer, but that has so far failed to come to fruition.

The Lilywhites were linked with Aston Villa's young midfielder Jack Grealish, but the Mirror also reports that Spurs have been warned they will not get the 22-year-old on the cheap.

Although he only stands at 5ft 7in, Lobotka is a more defensive midfielder and would be seen as a replacement for Mousa Dembele, after Football FanCast exclusively revealed that the 31-year-old Belgium international is unhappy at Tottenham having been denied a move to the Chinese Super League earlier this summer.

Lobotka is a full Slovakian international at just 23 years of age and only moved to Celta Vigo from Danish side FC Nordsjaelland last summer, but he is also being linked with Napoli as a replacement for Chelsea new boy Jorginho.
