Tottenham Hotspur have confirmed that Harry Winks is not fit to play in the Champions League quarter-final second leg against Manchester City, to the chagrin of supporters.
Spurs won the first leg in north London 1-0 thanks to an excellent goal from Son Heung-Min.
A clean sheet, then, would see Spurs through, as would any kind of draw or even a 2-1 defeat.
But their cause will not be helped by the absence of striker Harry Kane, who damaged his ankle ligaments in a clash with Fabian Delph in the first leg.
And Spurs have now confirmed that Winks will also be absent from the encounter.
The England international missed the 4-0 win over Huddersfield Town at the weekend and supporters were hopeful of the midfielder being fit for the decisive encounter with the Premier League champions.
He will instead be on the treatment table, along with Kane, Eric Dier (hip) and Serge Aurier (hamstring).
